Notice on Cross-Save Function Between Account for PSN and HoYoverse Account
Greetings, dear Travelers.The cross-save function between account for PlayStation™Network and HoYoverse Account is coming to you in Version 2.0. Here, we will answer your questions about the cross-save function from five aspects: account linking, top-ups, special rewards, Co-Op on PlayStation, and friends.

 

〓Account Linking〓


Q1: What is the cross-save function between account for PSN and HoYoverse Account?
A1: The cross-save function between accounts allows you to link accounts from two different platforms (your account for PSN and your HoYoverse Account) and share your progress as well as your in-game data between the two accounts. Once your account for PSN is linked to a valid email address, you will be able to log in on iOS/Android/PC using your HoYoverse Account, or on PlayStation using the account for PSN linked to the email address associated with your HoYoverse Account and resume your game progress.

 

Q2: How does account linking work?
A2: Travelers must first link their account for PSN that meets the linking criteria to their email address, and then both accounts can share the same game progress.

Q3: What type of account can be linked?
A3: The account to be linked must meet the following conditions: for the account for PSN and the email address to be linked, either the account for PSN must not have been used to log into Genshin Impact, or the email address must not yet have been used to register a HoYoverse Account. That is, the following two cases:
1) If the account for PSN has not been used to log into Genshin Impact, an email address that has been used to register a HoYoverse Account can be linked to the account for PSN.
2) If the email address has not been used to register a HoYoverse Account, an account for PSN that has been used to log into Genshin Impact can be linked to this email address. At the same time, this email address will be used to register a HoYoverse Account.
Travelers, please note that the following cases are not eligible for account linking:
Your account for PSN has already been used to log in to Genshin Impact and you want to link it to an email address that is already associated with a HoYoverse Account. In this case, account linking will not be possible.
The reason for this is that your account for PSN automatically registers a HoYoverse Account after logging into Genshin Impact. Thus, it cannot be linked to an email address that is already associated with a different HoYoverse Account.
Hence, Travelers, if you want to link an account for PSN that has logged in to Genshin Impact to your email address, you must ensure that your email address is not associated with a HoYoverse Account yet.

 

Q4: What do I need to do to link my accounts?
A4: Depending on which of the two cases below applies to you, the procedure you need to follow will be slightly different.
The two cases and their corresponding linking procedures are as follows:
Case 1:
I have game progress on iOS/Android/PC and would like to link my email address, which is associated with my HoYoverse Account, to my account for PSN. My account for PSN has never been used to log in to Genshin Impact.
Linking procedure:
On your PlayStation, using your account for PSN that has never previously logged in to Genshin Impact, open the game for the first time. Follow the steps in the pop-up window to link your email address that is associated with your HoYoverse Account. This will link both accounts.
*IMPORTANT: The pop-up window prompting you to link your accounts only appears when your account for PSN enters the game for the first time, after you agree to the Terms of Service. You can only link an existing HoYoverse Account from this pop-up window. If you skip the pop-up, your account for PSN will log in to the game and register a HoYoverse Account, after which it can no longer be linked to an email address that is already associated with a separate HoYoverse Account.

Case 2:
I have game progress on my PlayStation and would like to link my account for PSN to an email address that is not associated with a HoYoverse Account.
Linking procedure:
Log in to Genshin Impact on your PlayStation, then go to Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account and link your account for PSN that is logged in to Genshin Impact to an email address that is not associated with a HoYoverse Account. After linking, your game progress will be shared when you log into your account to play on the same server on iOS/Android/PC/PlayStation.

 

Q5: Can I share my game progress between an account for PSN and a HoYoverse Account which are on different servers?
A5: Sharing progress across servers is currently not supported, as game progress can only be synchronized if you are logged in to the same server. Therefore, we recommend you ensure that your HoYoverse Account and account for PSN are on the same server before proceeding with account linking. For more information on how to find out which server your account for PSN belongs to, see the table below or contact PlayStation Support (https://support.playstation.com/).

Q6: I have game progress on the TW, HK, MO server on iOS, Android, or PC. Can I link this HoYoverse Account to my account for PSN that is not yet associated with a HoYoverse Account? Can I share game progress after linking?
A6: A HoYoverse Account can be linked to an account for PSN that is not yet associated with a HoYoverse Account. However, sharing progress between the Genshin Impact TW, HK, MO server and an account for PSN is not currently supported because there is no corresponding TW, HK, MO server for PSN. Currently, only game progress on the America, Europe, or Asia servers can be shared with the corresponding server for your account for PSN.

 

Q7: Can I unlink my accounts after linking them?
A7: This function currently does not support unlinking. Travelers, please consider carefully before carrying out account linking.

 

Q8: If my account for PSN logs in to Genshin Impact for the first time and the game closes unexpectedly when the linking pop-up window appears, will I still be able to carry linking out afterwards?
A8: If this happens, the linking pop-up window will still appear the next time you log in to the game.

 

Q9: After account linking, can I use my account for PSN to log in on iOS/Android/PC, or use the email linked to my HoYoverse Account to log in on PlayStation?
A9: The above login methods are not supported currently. Regardless of whether the accounts are linked, please note the following:
1) Only HoYoverse Accounts and supported third-party accounts can be used to log in on iOS/Android/PC.
2) Only an account for PSN can be used to log in on PlayStation.

 

Q10: I already have game progress on my account for PSN. In the User Center, can I link it to an email address that is already associated with a HoYoverse Account?
A10: Currently, an account for PSN with existing game progress can only be linked to an email address that is not currently associated with a HoYoverse Account. An account with game progress is counted as having registered for a HoYoverse Account, and cannot be linked to an email address that is already associated with a different Hoyoverse Account.

 

Q11: How can I check my linked email address?
A11: After logging in to Genshin Impact, you can check your linked email address under Settings > Account > User Center.

 

Q12: Can one account for PSN be linked to more than one email? Or can more than one account for PSN be linked to a single email that is associated with a HoYoverse Account?
A12: Currently, an account for PSN can only be linked to one email. Likewise, an email address that has been used to register a HoYoverse Account can only be linked to one account for PSN.

 

Q13: My email is associated with a HoYoverse Account. After logging in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation with an account for PSN, can I link the email to this account for PSN via Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account?
A13: An account for PSN that has previously logged in to Genshin Impact can only be linked to an email address that is not yet associated with a HoYoverse Account. This is because after logging in to the game on the PlayStation, the account for PSN automatically registers a HoYoverse Account. Therefore, only an email address that is not already associated with a HoYoverse Account can be linked under Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account.
It is recommended that Travelers use an account for PSN that has not previously logged in to Genshin Impact and carry out account linking via the pop-up window that appears when first logging in to the game.

 

Q14: My email is associated with a HoYoverse Account, but I've never logged into Genshin Impact. Can I log in on PlayStation and then link this email under Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account?
A14: Currently, an email that is associated with a HoYoverse Account cannot be linked to an account for PSN that has previously logged into the game.
Travelers can change the email address currently associated with their HoYoverse Account to unlink it from their account, or use an email that is not associated with a HoYoverse Account to carry out linking.

 

Q15: I missed the linking pop-up window that appeared the first time I logged in to Genshin Impact with my PSN account. Will this pop-up reappear? Can I still log in to the game on PlayStation and link my email address in the User Center?
A15: The pop-up window only appears when the account for PSN logs in to Genshin Impact for the first time, after you agree to the Terms of Service. Please watch out for it, because it will not reappear if missed. When this pop-up appears, it means that your account for PSN is not yet associated with a HoYoverse Account, and thus will not conflict with an existing HoYoverse account. Hence, it is still possible to link an existing HoYoverse Account via email at this stage. If this pop-up is skipped, the account for PSN will proceed to log in to the game and register a new HoYoverse Account, at which point it will no longer be possible to link this account for PSN to a HoYoverse Account-associated email in the User Center. This would cause an account conflict.

 

Q16: How do I enable the cross-save function between an account for PSN and a third-party account?
A16:
1) If the HoYoverse Account associated with the third-party account is linked to an email: Using an account for PSN that has never logged into Genshin Impact, please enter the game for the first time and follow the instructions that appear on the pop-up window to link the email associated with your HoYoverse Account.
2) If the HoYoverse Account associated with your third-party account is not linked to an email, please log in to Genshin Impact using your third-party account, link an email in Settings > Account > User Center > Link Account, then follow the relevant account linking procedure to link your account for PSN.
3) Currently, third-party accounts cannot be linked to an account for PSN that has previously logged in to Genshin Impact.

 

Q17: How can I check my linked account for PSN?
A17: Log in to Genshin Impact from any platform and view your linked account for PSN in Settings > Account > User Center.

 

Q18: Will a trophy on PlayStation be unlocked after an account for PSN is linked to an account on iOS/Android/PC?
A18: When Travelers log in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation after account linking, the corresponding trophy on PlayStation will be unlocked.

〓About Top-Ups〓
Q1: Are Genesis Crystals purchased on iOS/Android/PC and on PlayStation shared between platforms via the cross-save function?

A1: No. After account linking, Genesis Crystals obtained on iOS/Android/PC and Genesis Crystals obtained on PlayStation will not be linked for the same account. This includes but is not limited to Genesis Crystals obtained via the following means: top-ups, refunds, and compensation for top-up errors for Blessing of the Welkin Moon and Battle Pass. Likewise, Genesis Crystals obtained by top-ups on PlayStation will not be displayed on iOS/Android/PC. When switching platforms, the Genesis Crystals from different platforms will not be displayed. Travelers can use these Genesis Crystals as per usual on the platform on which they were obtained.
For example, if Travelers top-up Genesis Crystals on PC and then play Genshin Impact on PlayStation, the Genesis Crystals topped-up on PC will not be displayed and cannot be used. However, Travelers can return to the PC platform to use these Genesis Crystals. If Travelers have topped-up Genesis Crystals on PlayStation, these Genesis Crystals will not be displayed and will not be available when playing the game on iOS/Android/PC. However, Travelers can return to PlayStation to use these Genesis Crystals.
After account linking, Primogems from the same HoYoverse Account will be displayed on iOS/Android/PC/PlayStation and can be used on any of these platforms.

 

Q2: After linking my account for PSN, can I top-up Genesis Crystals on iOS/Android/PC for a HoYoverse Account registered on PlayStation, or vice versa?
A2: Cross-platform top-up is currently not supported. Top-ups for a HoYoverse Account registered on PlayStation can only be carried out on PlayStation or from the Top-Up Center website. Top-ups for a HoYoverse Account registered on iOS/Android/PC can only be carried out on iOS/Android/PC or from the Top-Up Center website.

 

〓About Special Rewards〓
Q1: After my iOS/Android/PC HoYoverse Account is linked to my account for PSN, can I obtain the special rewards exclusive to PSN after logging in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation?

A1: Yes. You will obtain the special rewards after logging in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation.

 

Q2: How do I obtain the weapon and wind glider exclusive to PlayStation?
A2: You can receive the weapon and wind glider exclusive to PlayStation by logging in to Genshin Impact on PlayStation.

 

Q3: Can I use the weapon exclusive to PlayStation when I play Genshin Impact on other platforms?
A3: The platform-exclusive weapon can be used on any platform, but this weapon's effect (Descension) only applies when playing on PlayStation.

 

Q4: Are there differences between the platform-exclusive weapon on PlayStation and other weapons?
A4: The platform-exclusive weapon on PlayStation cannot be refined, but is otherwise no different from any other weapon — for example, in terms of use, enhancement, ascension, destruction, and consumption as a Weapon Enhancement Material for other weapons. The use of non-exclusive weapons on PlayStation is not affected.

 

Q5: Can I use the wind glider exclusive to PlayStation when I play Genshin Impact on other platforms?
A5: The platform-exclusive wind glider on PlayStation cannot be used on other platforms. When logged in on other platforms, this wind glider will be changed to Wings of First Flight.

 

〓About Co-Op on PlayStation〓
Q1: Will Co-Op Mode on PlayStation be any different after linking my account?

A1: In the future, we will add a Co-Op Mode control function to Genshin Impact for PlayStation. Travelers can use it to select Co-Op Mode preferences. When this function is disabled, Travelers on PlayStation and other platforms can play in Co-Op Mode together. When this function is enabled:
1) Players can only enter Co-Op Mode with other players on PlayStation.
2) On the Co-Op Mode screen, players on PlayStation and on other platforms will be unable to see each other's Co-Op Team information.
3) During Co-Op matching, a platform restriction rule will be added. If the host is a PlayStation user, only users on the same platform can join the team. Players on PlayStation will also be unable to join Co-Op teams where the host is playing on another platform.
4) Friends from other platforms will be hidden in the Friends List. However, hidden friends will still be counted in the list.

 

Q2: Where is the switch for the Co-Op Mode control function on PlayStation?
A2: Go to the Paimon Menu > Settings > Other. This option is only available on PlayStation and does not appear on other platforms.

〓About Friends〓
Q1: After linking an account for PSN with an iOS/Android/PC HoYoverse Account, how many Friends Lists are there? Can I view my Friends List from PlayStation on other platforms?

A1:
After the feature is activated, there will be two Friends Lists, namely "Genshin Impact Friends" and "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network.'" The "Genshin Impact Friends" list can be viewed from any platform, but "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" can only be viewed on PlayStation.

 

Q2: What is the relationship between the "Genshin Impact Friends" and "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" lists?
A2: "Genshin Impact Friends" are friends added from within the game. "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" are friends with an account for PSN who have played Genshin Impact on the same server.
For friends added to Travelers' account for PSN, if a friend's Genshin Impact character is on the same server, that friend will appear in the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" list, and be automatically added to the "Genshin Impact Friends" list, unless the friend in question is on the blocklist. It should be noted that if the number of friends added automatically has reached the limit, they will not be added to the "Genshin Impact Friends" list. We will continue to optimize the functionality of the two Friend Lists in future versions.
Any changes that you make to your Friend List on iOS/Android/PC will not affect the status of the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" list.
Blocking a friend on an account for PSN will remove that friend from both the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" and "Genshin Impact Friends" lists and add them to the blocklist of the "Genshin Impact Friends" list.
If you delete a friend directly from your account for PSN, that friend will be removed from the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" list, but not from the "Genshin Impact Friends" list.
If you remove someone from the blocklist on your account for PSN, no changes will be made to the "Genshin Impact Friends" list, including its blocklist.

 

Q3: Can I do things like chat and request to enter a friend's world from both the "Genshin Impact Friends" and the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" lists?
A3: You can chat, request to enter friends' worlds, and view their avatars only from the "Genshin Impact Friends" list. From the "Genshin Impact Friends on 'PlayStation Network'" list, you can only view your friends' information.

 

Q4: How can I check the online IDs of "Genshin Impact Friends" on '"PlayStation Network"?
A4:
A friend's online ID cannot be displayed if either of you is logged into a platform other than PlayStation.
Online IDs are only visible on the Friends screen if both you and your friend are logged in on PlayStation.
