To help improve the Genshin Impact experience, the developers will soon begin testing a new function for pre-installing game resources.
Due to stability and compatibility considerations, testing of the pre-installation function is coming first to PC users with the Version 1.2 update. Testing of the function for mobile and PS4 will come at a later date.
 
Pre-Installation Function Available Starting:
2020/12/21 11:00 UTC+8 (Before updating to Version 1.2)
 
Travelers can still play the game while pre-installing game resources. Pre-installation will take up a certain amount of your network's bandwidth, so it's best to make sure you have a good network connection before beginning pre-installation.
After pre-installation is complete, Travelers can update the game and experience new version content faster.

 
 〓How to Update〓
After the pre-installation function is available, you must first update your game launcher. After updating the launcher, a "Game Pre-Installation" button will appear to the left of the "Launch" button. Click "Game Pre-Installation" to download the latest game resources.

After completing pre-installation, when the version update is released, reopen the launcher and click "Update", and you will begin installing the game directly without any further need to download game resources.
If pre-installation is not complete, when you reopen the launcher and click "Update", game resources will continue downloading from the point where pre-installation progress ended.
