Developers Discussion - 01/19

Morning, Travelers! Once again, we're bringing you the latest and greatest from the developers' discussions! We've heard that material conversion is fresh out of the oven~

Q1: When will pre-installation come to mobile platforms? We mobile players want to play sooner when version updates drop as well!
A1: We will be releasing pre-installation on mobile devices before the Version 1.3 update. This will reduce the amount of time needed to update game resources.
You can obtain the resource package from the latest version of the game from the login menu or Other > Pre-Install Resource Package.
You will still have to use the App Store or Google Play Store to download the latest game installation package, and the pre-installed resources will take effect automatically once the previous installation has been overwritten.
We will provide more detailed instructions regarding this function soon.

Q2: I wish that we could hold down a button to add materials when enhancing our weapons.
A2: You will be able to hold down a button over the image of weapons materials to increase/decrease the amount consumed.

Q3: We'd like to use controllers on iOS devices... QAQ
A3: The developers have heard your cries — from Version 1.3 onwards, devices that have had their operating systems upgraded to iOS 14 or higher will now support the Xbox Wireless Controller (Bluetooth Version), Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller, and MFi (Made for iOS) Bluetooth controllers (partial support)!

Q4: I wish that we could have the ability to convert materials.
A4: The upcoming material conversion function that will go live in Version 1.3 is already in development! Stay tuned for future official announcements regarding the required materials and rules behind this function!

Q5: Will Electro-Charged reactions triggered by Rain Sword and Oz still trigger Fischl's Talent "Undone Be Thy Sinful Hex" when neither Xingqiu nor Fischl is on the field?
A5: No, it will not. "Undone Be Thy Sinful Hex" will only occur when "your current active character triggers an Electro-related Elemental Reaction." In other words, your active character must use their own attacks or skills to trigger that Electro-related Elemental Reaction for "Undone Be Thy Sinful Hex" to take effect. Examples of this include Barbara's Normal Attack, Tartaglia's Normal Attack when using "Foul Legacy: Raging Tide," Lisa's Normal Attack, and so on.
Additionally, we have found that if Oz is repositioned using an Elemental Skill while he is on the field, the effect of "Undone Be Thy Sinful Hex" might be lost.
The developers have already begun investigating and fixing this issue. Due to concerns that an immediate fix could trigger other unforeseen results, this issue will be fixed during the Version 1.3 update.

Q6: Why can't the Fatui Anemoboxer Vanguard counter Geo attacks any longer?
A6: The design of Anemo abilities was intended to mostly react (other than with itself) with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, and Electro. This is in line with the design of Anemo character abilities and the Swirl reaction.
When the Anemoboxer Vanguard was first released, we did not take this principle into account and designed it with an additional counter mechanic to Geo attacks. This diverges from prior design language.
As such, we removed the Anemoboxer Vanguard's Geo counter mechanic in Version 1.2. Due to an oversight on our part, this change was not reflected in announcements on time. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, Travelers.

Q7: Why does Ganyu's Talent, Harmony Between Heaven and Earth, not affect the Elemental Burst that activates it?
A7: By the time Harmony Between Heaven and Earth is activated, Ganyu's Elemental Burst would already have been unleashed. As such, it will not be affected by this buff.

Q8: We would like to have more Original Resin.
A8:
1) All events in Version 1.3 that do not require challenging Ley Line Outcrops or Domains will not consume Original Resin. The vast majority of large-scale events in future versions will also not consume Original Resin.
2) Our BPs will be adjusted from Version 1.3 onward to have additional Fragile Resin rewards:
Sojourner's Battle Pass and Gnostic Hymn will obtain Fragile Resin ×1 per 10 levels, starting from Level 5, replacing the Mystic Enhancement Ores that was originally there. This will not change the total amount of Mystic Enhancement Ore gained through the BP. These Mystic Enhancement Ores will instead be distributed amongst other levels.

Well then, this brings the latest session of our Developers Discussion to an end. If you have any questions that you would like answers to, Travelers, please head over to Genshin Impact's official forums, HoYoLAB, and start posting! See you all next time~
